High School Musical

My daughters have always been big High School Musical fans!  They are very proud of the fact that their grandma attended East High in Salt Lake City, where High School Musical was filmed.  My daughters talked their grandma into taking them to East High for a tour and to see Sharpay's pink locker, but unfortunately on the day they decided to go, East High was closed for tours because of an important event going on at the high school.  Luckily they did get to see the outside of East High at least!

Summer of 2024 we went on a vacation to Saint George, Utah, and of course my daughter Lizzie wanted to visit the filming site of High School Musical II -- the Inn at Entrada, which became Lava Springs Resort in High School Musical II.  The gate was closed, so we pulled over for Lizzie to try to see it through the fence.  An employee saw us and asked what we were doing, and when Lizzie explained her love for High School Musical, he let us in to walk around for a few minutes as long as we didn't disturb any of the guests.

Lizzie loved walking around where she knew Troy and Gabriella had been.  She walked on the bridge where Troy and Gabriella filmed this scene:

We didn't dare enter the golf course area, but looked around at possible areas that Troy and Gabriella may have filmed.  

Especially by the volleyball and basketball area

We would have loved to see the pool, but it was gated and we didn't have a pass.  Someday we'll need to go stay at The Inn at Entrada and take a dip in the pool, and maybe even play a little golf!

My daughters visited East High School with their grandma in the summer of 2023.  Unfortunately, they couldn't go inside for a tour and to see Sharpay's pink locker, but they did recognize the famous Wildcats' East High School.
