Titanic

It would be very difficult to visit the real-time location of the Titanic, since it is more than 12,000 feet under water, but you can visit the place where many of the bodies were brought after they were recovered, and the cemetery were many of them are buried.  That place is Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Because of their resources, Halifax was best equipped to aid in the Titanic recovery efforts.  209 bodies were brought to Halifax after the ship crashed and sank.  121 people from the Titanic are buried at Fairview Lawn Cemetery.

One happens to be named J. Dawson.  He is not THE Jack Dawson from the Titanic -- he is a fictitious person.  And yet, many people leave flowers and other memorabilia at J Dawson's grave in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery.  The other grave that receives a lot of attention is the grave of the unknown child.  He has since been identified as Sidney Leslie Goodwin.  He was a 19 month old boy who drowned along with all of his family in the Titanic.  The small boy's coffin, headstone, and funeral were paid for by rescue crews from the CS Mackay-Bennett.  DNA testing was used to discover the boy's identity in 2007.
